In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we’re giving you 3 tips on how to keep your garden green and pest free!
Here are some helpful tips to help keep your garden green and thriving!
#1 The next time you decide to steam or boil vegetables, don’t dump the water down the drain! Instead, use it to water the potted plants around your patio. They’ll love their “vegetable soup”
#2 Use leftover tea and coffee grounds to acidify the soil of acid-loving plants. Such plants include: Azaleas, Rhododendrons, Camellias, and Gardenias. A light sprinkling (about one-quarter of an inch) applied once a month will keep the pH of the soil on the acidic side.
#3 Use chamomile tea to control damping-off fungus, fungus that often attacks young seedlings quite suddenly. Just add a spot of tea to the soil around the base of seedlings once a week or use it as a foliar spray.
